Fees

Cost of mediation

Normally disputing parties share in paying the fees for mediation. It’s up to you to dicuss payment with the person or people who are involved in mediation with you.

We charge fees on an hourly basis. We expect you to pay at the time of service. You do not need to pay in advance. In other words, we do not charge a retainer.

A typical divorce mediation consists of a one-hour orientation session plus four to six 2-hour sessions. You are the other people determine how much time you need to resolve your differences. So you, not the mediators, decide the length of mediation. Other types of mediation may take more or less time, depending on the complexity of the issues.

After each mediation session, we prepare and give you the minutes of the session. We do not charge extra for this service.

When the mediation is complete, we prepare a written summary (sometimes called a memorandum of understanding) reflecting the decisions you have made in mediation. The cost of the memorandum varies with the time necessary to prepare it.
